Evri Invests £1M in AI Strategy for Smarter Parcel Delivery

UK parcel delivery giant Evri is doubling down on Artificial Intelligence with a £1 million investment in an ambitious new AI strategy. The forward-thinking initiative aims to drive innovation across customer service, parcel security, and workforce productivity using the latest machine learning and data analytics capabilities.

At the heart of Evri's AI roadmap are three key focus areas:

Enhancing the Customer Experience with Smarter Data

Evri plans to leverage AI to simplify and streamline parcel delivery services. Through automation of data collection and issue identification, the AI tools will free up customer service reps to focus on more complex inquiries and problems. This smarter use of data promises a more consistent and satisfying customer experience.

Next-Gen Parcel Security Powered by AI

The company will deploy AI-powered computer vision and geolocation data to instantly analyse delivery photos on the doorstep. This high-tech approach verifies parcels are being left in safe locations and helps detect fraudulent claims more quickly and accurately than manual processes. Building on their Parcel Vision platform, Evri continues pushing the boundaries of parcel security.

Optimising Workforce Productivity with Predictive Intelligence

Crunching historical data, Evri's AI system will forecast demand patterns and optimise workforce planning accordingly. This data-driven approach ensures the right staffing is in place at the right times, maximising operational efficiency and team productivity.

"Our significant investment in AI underscores our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation," said Marcus Hunter, Evri's Chief Technology Officer. "This strategy will empower our people and optimise our operations, ultimately enabling us to deliver a best-in-class experience."

In collaboration with AI consultancy Robiquity, Evri has assembled an "AI Center of Excellence" team spearheading the initiative. Early results from intelligent process automation have already yielded major benefits, paving the way for expanded use of AI across the business.

"We're committed to supporting colleagues and helping them work smarter," Hunter added. "AI will remove some of the mundane tasks, freeing them to focus on higher-value activities."

As a proven disruptor in the logistics space known for fast and cost-effective parcel delivery, Evri is confidently staking its future on AI's transformative potential. With this pioneering £1M investment, the company is well-positioned to cement its innovation leadership for years to come.
