Tesla Launches Cheaper Model X and Model S Options with Less Range

In a move to make its electric cars more accessible to a wider range of buyers, Tesla has announced the launch of cheaper versions of the Model X and Model S. The new models, called the Model X Plaid and Model S Plaid, start at $129,990 and $129,990 respectively, compared to the starting prices of $138,990 and $119,990 for the current models.

The new models have a slightly reduced range, at 330 miles for the Model X Plaid and 340 miles for the Model S Plaid, compared to the 340-mile range of the current models. However, they still offer a significant range advantage over other electric cars on the market.

The Model X Plaid and Model S Plaid are powered by Tesla's new Plaid powertrain, which consists of three electric motors. This gives the cars a combined output of 1,020 horsepower, making them the fastest Tesla cars ever made. The Model X Plaid can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds, while the Model S Plaid can do it in 2.1 seconds.

The launch of the Model X Plaid and Model S Plaid is a major step forward for Tesla in its quest to make electric cars more affordable and accessible. The new models are still expensive, but they are significantly cheaper than the current models, and they offer a significant range advantage over other electric cars on the market.
